Fireclay Retail Space

Completed, 2014

Fireclay Tile wanted to create a memorable experience in their new home in San Francisco.  Our studio came on board during their search for an appropriate space, which landed on a former elevator factory that was strategically located in the heart of San Francisco’s design district. The building had fallen into disrepair. (It housed an abandoned boat when the project began which was our second building with a boat in it that year). We worked with the company’s CEO and Creative Director to define visitor journeys that reflected Fireclay’s customer-focused, sustainable brand. A key insight from the user research led to the separation of the geometric ideas from the color ideas, allowing design professionals and homeowners alike to parse the overwhelming set of options available when selecting tile.

“Nash and his team brought both superior architectural and design expertise as well as a thoughtful consideration for our team, our needs, and the future vision of our company. The results surpassed any expectation.” – Eric Edelson, CEO, Fireclay
